Comment on the Data Privacy Day (January 28th):
An arousing turn of the year in the matter of privacy: At the end of 2009 Eric Schmidt, CEO Google, told CNBC: “If you have something you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place”. At the beginning of 2010, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, told a live audience that if he were to create Facebook again today, user information would by default be public, not private as it was for years till the end of December. It seems that privacy has become a disused concept. The new decade is about openness and total disclosure. Individuals and organizations will have to engage even more in protecting privacy as a rare but neccessary concept for human life in the digitally networked world. Remember? Privacy has always been interpreted as a precondition for human self-determination in a free and democratic society. I don’t remember any convincing argument that has made this assumption obsolete. So let’s take care.

Die Diskussionen über privacy-Grundregeln bei facebook etc. erinnern mich an die Handhabe mit den Grenzwerten von Blei im Grundwasser hier in Vorarlberg. Man hat damals einfach die Unbedenklichkeitsgrenze erhöht … dann gabs auch weniger Gefahr :-)
Hmmm, frage mich, wer die Akteure sind, die unter “man” zu subsumieren sind und die die Macht haben, eine Kriterienverschiebung in ihrem Sinne durchzuführen und warum sie diese Macht haben…
Ganz christlich-demokratisch mit der absoluten Mehrheit. Damals als die Katalysatoren eingeführt wurden und das bleifreie Benzin seinen Einstand feierte.
All fb friends go to settings, then privacy setting, and select block list. Type in “automation labs” then hit ‘block’ button. You will see names of people you don’t know! You must block each person – they access to all your info!
FB has extensive privacy settings, you can customize it down to which friend can see what. However, whenever one of your friends logs onto facebook mobile, all this goes out the window. Through Facebook Mobile, your friends can see EVERYTHING, even if they can’t see it on a PC, and can even see the profiles of your friends! Nobody is talking about this and in my opinion it is a very serious loophole. Being as most people these days use facebook mobile, it makes any privacy settings completely useless!!

man muss es im gendersoziologischen zusammenhang sehen. was gut auf der einen seite ist kann schecht für die andere seite sein.
